PSHE
The PSHE programme of study takes a thematic approach covering three core themes: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships, and Living in the Wider World. These are covered over six half terms.
PSHE learning is thematic to ensure that students can build on their knowledge through each year. We aim to give our students a key understanding to these three themes to enable them to become informed citizens. This helps ensure that our students have developed knowledge, learned key skills and attributes to make informed choices both in their lives now and in the future.
A common thread throughout the PSHE learning journey is a preparedness for life beyond our school walls. From supporting transition in Y7 to promoting independence in Y11, our curriculum journey interweaves the school’s values of dignity, integrity, honesty and kindness.
Pupils receive two lessons of PSHE across their two-week timetable. One lesson of PSHE with a subject specialist (Ms Fairhurst or Mrs Blundell) and their other lesson with their form tutor.
