School Data and ICT Services Migration

As part of our recent IT infrastructure updates, we will be migrating our Microsoft 365 (M365) services including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and OneNote to the centralised King Edward VI MAT platform on July 22nd. A key change in this process is the update to our school’s email domain, transitioning from @keaston.bham.sch.uk to @ast.kevibham.org. Therefore, starting July 22nd, all students, staff, and generic email addresses will be updated accordingly.

This change will also impact students’ access to Microsoft 365 services. School account Microsoft 365 services will not be available during the migration period from July 22nd to July 26th to allow for the transfer of all data to the new platform. We anticipate that all students will be able to access Microsoft 365 services, including Emails, Teams, and OneDrive, from July 29th onwards. Students are encouraged to log in using their new email addresses to ensure access to Microsoft 365 services. If you encounter any issues, please contact the ICT support team at m.islam@keaston.bham.sch.uk  or b.wellavize@keaston.bham.sch.uk

Please find attached a Student information document that includes key information regarding:

  1. The format of the new usernames

  1. The timeline for migration

  1. The web address for signing in to the new centralised platform

  1. General information regarding the data and emails in old(current) Microsoft accounts

  1. Frequently asked questions with answers

Additionally, instruction sheets are also attached for setting up Microsoft apps on personal devices and disassociating your old Microsoft account. These should only be used if the general instructions provided in the PowerPoint and during assemblies earlier this week do not work.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please feel free to get in touch with the ICT support team or Mrs Lally at k.lally@keaston.bham.sch.uk
